When you start using Azure with a free account, you get $2001 credit to spend in the first 30 days after you sign up. In addition, you get free monthly amounts of two groups of services: popular services, which are free for 12 months, and more than 40 other services that are free always.
You will be provided with:
- €170 or $200 free credit for the duration of the first month. When your first month ends, the credit expires and you will be asked to choose one of the available subscriptions. We will talk about them soon.
- 12 months of popular services for free.
- 25 services independently for free. Offer might differ in different regions.

What Happens When an Account Goes Over the Spending Limits?
When using an Azure free account, you can see a variety of helpful experiences that help you understand your spending and manage costs. There are no limits on how much you can use in your free account because you’re only charged for what you use. When you go over your spending limit, you’ll be informed by email that your subscription is being reduced to the Basic service tier. Once this change takes effect, some functionality will be turned off or reduced until the end of your billing period.’
Azure subscriptions with credit such as Free Trial and Visual Studio Enterprise have spending limits on them. You can only use services up to the included credit. When your usage reaches the spending limit, Azure disables your subscription for the rest of that billing period. Your subscription is disabled to protect you from accidentally incurring charges for usage beyond the credit included with your subscription. To remove your spending limit, see Remove the spending limit in the Azure portal.

I am getting stuck at “Enter Payment details” section. I have provided debit card details properly, but getting validation “Check the info you entered. It doesn’t match the info for this card.”. I also enabled international payments for the card, but not working. Please help how can I proceed.
Rahul Dangayach says
Hi Manas,
You need to enter the Credit card details (and that Credit Card must not be used before to create the azure free trial account).
Also, the debit card is not accepted, still, if you face any issues check it with Microsoft Azure support.
Hope this helps.

What do I need to do to get Student account for free ?
Rahul Dangayach says
Hi Mohammed,
To obtain a free Azure Student account, you can follow these steps:
Visit the Azure for Students webpage: Go to the official Azure for Students website, which provides free access to Azure cloud services for eligible students.
Sign up with your Microsoft account: If you don’t have a Microsoft account, create one by signing up on the Microsoft account creation page. Make sure to use your student email address or verify your student status during the registration process.
Verify your student status: Once you have signed up with your Microsoft account, you will need to verify your student status. This usually involves providing proof of enrollment, such as a student ID or an email from your educational institution. Follow the instructions provided on the Azure for Students webpage to complete the verification process.
Access your Azure Student account: After your student status is verified, you will gain access to your free Azure subscription. You can log in to the Azure portal using your Microsoft account credentials and start exploring and using the available Azure services.
Note that the Azure for Students program provides limited free access to Azure services, including a certain amount of credit each month for a specified period. Be sure to review the terms and conditions of the Azure for Students program to understand the details and limitations of the free account.
Hope this helps,
Thanks and Regards
