What is Red Hat Certified Specialist in Containers and Kubernetes Exam?
The Red Hat Certified Specialist in Containers and Kubernetes exam (EX180) analyses your understanding of the fundamentals of containers and OpenShift, including the ability to find, customize, run, and manage containerized services in both stand-alone and Kubernetes and OpenShift environments.
This exam is based on the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4.6 and the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.2.

1) Implement images using Podman
- Understand and use FROM (the concept of a base image), RUN, ENV, ADD and COPY instruction.
- Understand and use WORKDIR and USER instructions.
- Understand the differences and applicability of CMD vs. ENTRYPOINT instructions.
- Understand ENTRYPOINT instruction with param.
- Understand when and how to expose ports from a Docker file.
- Understand and use environment variables inside images.
- Understand container volume.
- Mount a host directory as a data volume.
- Understand security and permissions requirements related to this approach.
- Understand lifecycle and cleanup requirements of this approach.
2) Manage images
- Understand private registry security.
- Interact with many different registries.
- Understand and use image tags.
- Push and pull images from and to registries.
- Back up an image with its layers and metadata vs. backup a container state.

The EX180 Exam Format
The Red Hat Certified Specialist in Containers and Kubernetes Exam is a hands-on, practical exam in which you must complete real-world tasks. There will be no Internet access available during the exam, and you will not be permitted to bring any hard copy or electronic documentation with you. This prohibition extends to notes, books, and other materials. During most exams, the documentation that comes with the product is available.
Scores and Reporting
Exam results are only available from Red Hat Certification Central. Red Hat does not permit examiners or training partners to directly report results to candidates. Exam results are usually available within three business days in the United States.
Total scores are reported as exam results. Red Hat does not report on individual items’ performance and will not provide additional information upon request.
